Create a Beautiful Aspen Tree Wall with Our Reusable Plaster Stencil
If you love tree stencils as much as I do, you’re in for a treat! Aspen Tree has been one of my favorite designs since 2004, and I’ve used it in all three of my own homes.
One of my favorite projects was a magnificent 10-foot-tall tree. Later, I created a dramatic 25-foot tree that stretched across two stories and finished it in gold. It completely transformed the space.
Creating your own custom tree is easier than you might think.
Start with the repeatable trunk stencil, applying joint compound, plaster, or another textured finish. Simply repeat the trunk to create the height you want, then add the forked branches, side branches, tiny fill-in branches, and leafy branches to create a one-of-a-kind tree that’s uniquely yours.

- Forked Branch – 3″ × 6½”
- Top/Side Branch – 11½” × 5½”
- Tiny Fill-In Branch – 3″ × 6½”

Raised plaster designs add beautiful depth and texture to walls, furniture, cabinets, and other decorative projects.
To create the design, simply spread joint compound, plaster, or another textured finish over the stencil using a trowel or putty knife. Lift the stencil away, allow the design to dry, then paint it any color you like. You can also tint your joint compound before applying it or finish your project with decorative glazes for even more dimension.
Made from our ultra-durable reusable stencil material, this stencil is designed to be used again and again. Every stencil includes easy-to-follow instructions and a full-color reference photo to help you create your own beautiful tree.
