Angela Perrone from Divine Rooms used our Raised Plaster Chaumont Frieze on the front of this chest to create the look of hand carved doors.
She chose our Raised Plaster Vertical Leaf Frieze to adorn the sides of the chest. Using two different designs certainly gives it unique charm!
How might you create this look?
Remove the hardware, sand and prime. After applying the design and letting it dry, paint over the entire chest and designs with your choice of colors (here, she used light off-white) and then use a darker color mixed into clear wall glaze and wipe over the surface, blotting off excess as you go to create a blended version of the two colors together. On this project, she used brown paint in the glaze.
The result is a stunning piece of furniture that is no longer destined for the attic and forgotten. You can do this easily to any of your furniture pieces and/or cabinet and closet doors.
