Plaster Stenciling isn't just for indoor projects

Lynn Low  is my friend, my sister and an "on her way up" budding faux finish artist and muralist in the Albuquerque area of New Mexico.

Lynn took our Raised Plaster Acanthus Corner and Border Stencil set and set out to create an ornate design on the front planter wall of her house. And wow, did it come out elegant!

Lynn plastered the design right on to the stucco of the wall using a bit of white glue with joint compound to create a stronger bond.

Now, after over a year of pounding rain, scorching sun and high winds of the desert, the design has remained un-scathed by the elements and still serves as a welcoming to visitors to her home.

Per our resident technical expert "Fay Forsythe", when white glue is added to the joint compound, or any plastering product, it will create a firmer bond not only to the item you are putting it on, but also to itself. We're using her formulas faithfully to plaster everything from stucco to mirrors and tiles and we have yet to find the one item we CANNOT plaster! Oh yeah, Fay is also my very talented artist mother.
