Rusty Hedrick is a big thinker and in the sunny state of Florida, where everything is done in a grand and majestic way, Rusty left her majestic mark on her home with a 16' tall Raised Plaster Palm tree! (How fitting to the area!)
A note from Rusty:
Hi, just had to share with you my first project. I LOVE it!
I just moved to Florida 6 months ago and every room in our house is white.
I needed to punch up this empty hallway wall.
You see this wall from our entrance way, so it is very noticeable. It has
16' ceilings and has the door to the laundry room as well as the door to
the garage on it. This doesn't leave much room for decorating. I thought
the life sized palm tree was perfect, especially in Florida!
I faux finished the wall blue to mock the sky and up, up, up went the
tree. What I like about this stencil is that you repeat the trunk until
you achieve the height you desire. This was so easy that I did it while
coming down with the flu. I still have the flu, but can't wait to show off
my wall to my new neighbors! I'm sending my husband to Home Depot for an
uplight and I know that it'll be even more dramatic than it
is now.
