Decorating with Stencils
A popular grapes design does justice to a plain doorway
Tracy McAlister found Raised Plaster Stenciling to be the perfect thing to add to her plain doorways. Rich, neutral walls and bright white moldings (which are enough for just about anyone) are the perfect setting for pure white Raised Plaster Grapes and intricate vines.
She gently trailed them over the top of the doorway and down over the side. Now there's a coordinating design to the moldings right on the wall with little effort and barely any expense.
Obviously, Tracy is a budding "designer".....
Designer's Tip: You needn't make a straight border out of any design. (Yawn....) Anyone can do that! Be creative! With vining designs, trail them just here and there...... with friezes, turn them in to a wallpaper design all over a wall... with straight border type designs, create rectangle frames out of them on the walls and attach a plaster medallion from a mold.... there are many very innovative things you can do with stencils, plaster stencils and molds that will make your home a showplace and something truly unique that no one else has.
