Decorating with Stencils

Realistic 3-D columns and tiny vines

I absolutely could not believe the incredible columns Suzie Issac did on her walls!

Seated on either side of her curio cabinet, Suzie first had decided on a stenciled Gargoyle design on top of her Raised Plaster Columns. But as she lived with it, she decided that a Raised Plaster Urn with tiny hand painted roses and the little birds were much more fitting to her home decor.

Well, that's certainly the beauty of stenciling; if you decide you don't like it, simply paint over it!

That she did and on she went to create this stunning masterpiece you see now.

Suzie's talents don't just lie in creating her own designs with the plaster stencils, but click on the photo and check out that intricate hand painting!

Not only do tiny vines flow gracefully from out of the pot, they also wind all the way around those columns!

I am completely blessed with such talented clients, because you all keep my mind whirling and begging for more wall space!

Check out Suzie's re-finished vanity! You'll see it in the Border Stenciling section. It's awesome!

Designer's tip: If you feel you can't use a liner brush to create tiny vines of your own, try a permanent marker (never watercolor markers on the wall! They will just bleed!). Then stencil tiny leaves and flowers! It's easy! Draw the line wavy, curved, straight... any way you see fit, then have a blast adding everything else!
