Decorating with Faux Finishing

Paula Welsh proves that Raised Plaster Stenciling

works even on glass!

Paula Welsh is delighted with her new front door. She decided it needed that extra "something" to go with the style of her beautiful home.

She chose our Raised Plaster English Victorian Corner and Border Stencil and plastered it's pretty corners in to the corners of the glass, using the border on the vertical edges.

When you wish a raised design on a super slick surface, it's simple; just clean the intended area well with soap and water, then wipe with pure white vinegar to give it "tooth" so the material will hold well to the area.

In areas where splashing water won't be a problem (such as rain, sprinklers, cleaning products), simply add 1/2 cup of white glue (such as Elmer's), stir well then plaster as usual.

When the area will be affected by moisture, use "Fix-it-all" (or "Quick Fix" in east coast stores but it's all the same thing), again adding 1/2 cup white glue to two cups of the powder, then enough water to make the consistency of frosting.

Work quickly with this product since it will set up on you within about 10 minutes. Also, be sure to mix only the amount you will use in that amount of time. Be sure to clean up any smudged areas immediately.

Beautiful results Paula and thank you for sharing with us!
