Decorating with Stencils

Cheery walls make for a cheerier day!

Rebecca McGrane delighted in sending me these photos of her new digs.... pretty yellow walls were just crying for something exciting and wonderful and she found that in our Honeysuckle Vine Wall Stencil.

With deep yellow petals, soft green leaves and vines and orange stamen, Rebecca wound up adding a true sense of cheer to this room.

It's so funny how our surroundings can affect our mood. Deep colors are calming, soothing, quiet and serene. Bright, light colors tend to fill us with an up-lifted feeling. That's what this design on those beautiful walls creates.

Who could be in a rotten mood in this atmosphere? Not me!

I also want to mention her shading. She's got that down pat and is great at it! Remember that it's the lights and darks of your colors that make a design look more real, more interesting and captivating. It's what will make your stenciling look like you labored hours to paint the entire thing by hand!
