Beautiful Treatment at the Seattle Street of Dreams

I love going to the Seattle Street of Dreams. I love seeing how the truly wealthy might live... how they might decorate, innovative ideas and creative decorating.

I love trying to pick apart how they did something, how they arranged the furniture, grasping the knowledge of their interior designers simply by examining and theorizing "why" they might have displayed something the way that they did. I've learned a lot by doing just this.

As an example, I couldn't take my eyes off this wonderful valence created over the kitchen window of a 2 million dollar home.

It would be such a cinch to do.

If you simply take two pieces of rich velvet for the ends, slightly curving the inner corner and attaching wide trim  and sewing a rod pocket in to the top.

Place those on your rod.

For the center, cut a curved "V" shape with wide sides, trim the same way, then fold the sides back and simply lay in the center of the two previous sides and there you are!

That of course isn't the way they have created this since it was professionally done, but you can get the same look with those easy instructions!
