Painted baby's bench

JoAnn Nobel of Beauti-Faux Finishes, commissioned by a client to create an elegant design on her walls, chose our

Raised Plaster Aspen Tree Stencil and decided upon a whole forest of metallic trees.

JoAnn said: "This was done on three adjointing bedroom walls, The client wanted them timeless so I add more branches and less leaves. I created a total of 9 Raised Plaster Aspen trees on the walls. I then painted the walls, trunks and branches with one color before doing a soft faux finish over the entire wall.

I then highlighted the trunks and branches with pearl glaze, adding just a touch of green to some of the leaves. This is a suble effect and looks different depending on how the light hits it as you can see in the photos. The client loved it! I have used several of your stencils and loved them all."

Designer's Tips:

If you have no faux finish experience, you can create a similar finish behind your trees by choosing a light and medium tone of the same color. Mix each with translucent wall glaze (available at Lowe's or Home Depot) then sponge over the walls blending the colors together to create a very soft background.
