Iwona Skrzypek found that single
elements in raised plaster could give her broken wall new interest and
coordination.
With the walls many windows, the wall (broken up in to pieces), still
needed some "oomph". Being the smart woman she is, Iwona decided to use two
different designs centered on each panel of the wall between the windows.
She chose our
Raised Plaster Laureli Frieze Stencil for the upper design and our
Raised Plaster Worthington Border Stencil for the lower design.
The colors she chose are soft and beautiful. A golden color for the
wall above the molding and a deeper cinnamon for the lower area give
coordinating contrast to the wall. To combine the two beautifully, she then
used the same cinnamon color in her plaster stenciled designs which brings
the cinnamon color directly in to the gold color.
The result is a very pleasing marriage of not only two colors, but two
design elements. Another lesson learned from yet another very crafty home
owner with vision!
Thank you Iwona!
Designers Tip:
Joint compound (used to stencil with) can easily
be pre-tinted with deeply colored craft paints, stucco or concrete colorings
or universal tins to make the coloring job easier and prevent you from
having to go back and paint them once dry.
