A mountain home takes on the "feel of the forest" |

By Victoria Larsen We purchased our retirement home early in the forest of Idaho and with it, came 15 foot ceilings and large blank walls perfect for plaster stenciling! In my quest to begin it's decoration, I plaster stenciled 10 foot Aspen Trees on either side of the massive front windows overlooking the meadow and forest. I did one on either side of the large front windows and trailed their branches over the adjoining walls. Outside the front windows, real Aspen trees grow along side evergreens for a spectacular show of "gold" in the fall. Each tree measures over 10 feet tall and they were a blast to do! Being that the house is situated in the forest, I've decided to keep it's designs in "botanical" themes. Vines, leaves and flowers suit this house perfectly!
